This position reports to

SVP Global Business Line Manager

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring and understanding the current and future regulatory framework. Ensuring ABB’s Division Marine & Ports activities comply with regulatory requirements and are aligned with legal frameworks. Liase with government officials and regulatory agencies to advocate for favorable outcomes. Advise senior leadership on regulatory risks and opportunities. Work with the key stakeholders in the regulatory field with bodies such as IMO, EU and IACS.

This position reports to SVP Global Business Line Manager, Marine Systems, Division Marine and Ports.

The work model for the role is: LI#Hybrid

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Leading the Business Line development of partnerships and collaborations with classification societies
  • Collaborate with senior management to align public and regulatory affairs strategy with overall business objectives.
  • Identifying business risks and opportunities through market research and analysis created by regulatory development.
  • Evaluating the impact of regulatory changes on business strategy and operations.
  • Collaborating with customers to support their decision-making.
  • Stay informed about relevant laws, regulations, and public policy developments that affect the organization.
  • Ensuring Marine & Ports activities comply with regulatory requirements and are aligned with legal frameworks.
  • Overseeing the submissions of reports and documents required by regulatory bodies.

Qualifications For The Role

  • In-depth knowledge of the regulatory landscape within Marine industry.
  • Capability to align regulatory strategy with business goals.
  • Experience in building and maintaining relationship with regulators and decision-makers.
  • Solid experience with IMO, IACS and the classification societies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships and negotiate effectively.
  • Proven experience in advising, leading and motivating different stakeholders.
