The position
As the Medical Affairs Director at Novo Nordisk Pharma AG, you are tasked with leading the medical affairs function. Your role involves overseeing all medical affairs activities, ranging from medical strategy development and scientific communications to medical education, evidence generation, and medico-legal review of promotional materials.
In addition, your tasks will also be to:
- Develop and mentor the medical affairs team and individual members, ensuring their professional growth and success
- Drive the affiliate’s transition into a cardiometabolic company
- Foster collaboration between your department and marketing, sales, and market access teams to achieve cross-functional alignment and enhance overall effectiveness in meeting organizational objectives
- Foster innovativeness, curiosity, and creativity within the medical affairs team to advance medical affairs capabilities and support organizational objectives
- Ensure that all medical affairs activities are compliant with relevant regulations, guidelines, and policies
In this role you will report directly to the Head of CMR (Clinical, Medical and Research)
Qualifications
You should bring outstanding leadership, strategic thinking, and innovation to develop and implement medical affairs strategies. Demonstrate excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and a blend of science and business acumen. Embrace a collaborative mindset with assertiveness, ensuring effective leadership in medical affairs.
- Medical degree (MD or equivalent) or advanced scientific degree (PhD, PharmD)
- 8+ years of experience in different medical affairs roles (or in a related field) in markets similar to Switzerland
- Strong leadership skills, ability to lead teams, and documented people and team development capabilities
- Good knowledge of English language is a must, knowledge in any of the local languages (German, French, Italian) would be advantageous
